Our lady of prints…
Hi there! My name is Amanda Burk. I’m a printmaker in Athens, Georgia. Since I received my Masters degree in printmaking in 2007, I’ve been teaching printmaking, bookmaking and papermaking at the college level. In 2012, I co-opened a printshop here in Athens called Double Dutch Press. We, the owners/artists of Double Dutch, disbanded in 2016 to pursue other endeavors. Since then I have been hand-printing editions for artists, teaching printmaking workshops, and have established myself as a mural painter. For 6 years (2018 - 2023) I was the master printmaker for the annual Lyndon House Arts Center limited edition artist print series. I was the screen print technician 6 limited prints by artists: Holly Coulis, Eleanor Davis, Samuel Stabler, Harold Rittenberry, Jr., Kim Deakins and Ridley Howard. From 2022 - 2024, I owned and operated a print shop in Athens, Georgia called Flat File Print Shop, where I taught classes, provided studio space for printmakers, offered screen services for screen printers, and sold limited edition hand-printed prints. In 2022, I was awarded a public art mural opportunity through an Athens-Clarke County SPLOST funded project to be painted along the Oconee River Greenway. Installation date for this mural is still to be decided. I have been in my current role as gallery director for the Winterville Cultural Center Gallery since the end of January 2025. I am looking forward to bringing a wide array of artists and art works to the galleries.
